SkekSil
SkekSil, the Skeksis Chamberlain, was in charge of admitting of receiving visitors to the Emperor's private quarters. His Mystic counterpart was the Chanter. He had a high-pitched whimper with which he enjoyed annoying the other Skeksis, especially his chief rival, the General.
Despite his seemingly jovial personality, the Chamberlain was in fact the most ambitious of the Skeksis alongside the General. He attempted to take the Emperor's scepter from his hands as the dying Skeksis lay in bed...only for the vengeful ruler to snatch it back with a cry of "Mine!" It was the Emperor's final act, and he died soon after.
Later, the Chamberlain was one of the two contenders for the throne. His old enemy the General was the other. Supported by the Ornamentalist and the Historian, he attempted to again seize the scepter, but was pulled away by the General, who he challenged to Trial by Stone. The General won, and banished the Chamberlain, but not before he had the other Skeksis strip him of his robes of office.
When a Gelfling was discovered alive and the Garthim sent to eliminate him, the Chamberlain, sensing an opportunity, followed them. Discovering two Gelflings, Jen and Kira, the Chamberlain got them to return with him to the castle, first through coercion, and when that failed, force. When Jen used the Crystal shard to stab his hand, the enraged Chamberlain buried the Gelfling in an avalanche.
Bringing Kira before the General-Emperor, he offered her in return for his old position back. The General granted his request. The Chamberlain was reinstated and Kira taken away to the Chamber of Life. However the Chamberlain did not get to enjoy his regained authority for very long, for, even as he participated in the Great Conjunction, Jen, who had survived, healed the Dark Crystal, resulting in the Chamberlain reuniting with the Chanter, forming the UrSkek SilSol.
