Stalag VII Z

Stalag VII Z was a Wehrmacht Heer prison camp administered by the Reich Antiquities Department. Its purpose was to use prisoners, mostly Allied P.O.W.s, to excavate Greek artifacts to be sent back to Germany. Major Otto Hecht was the camp's commandant.
