Biography

Stampede was an ancient evil who had great mystical power and sought ultimate power. He once commanded an entire legion of evil that did his bidding. At some point, he threatened the world of a tribe of shaman who had created a potent power source. Desiring this for himself, the villainous Stampede dispatched his army of Broncosaurs to lay siege to the defenders defenses. This led to Stampede combating the mystically power foe known as Shaman whose magic was equal to that of Stampede. Despite an initial fight with his astral form, he failed to defeat the evil one who retaliated by attacking a young boy who was the weak link in their defense. This forced Shaman to return to his body and take the boy to safety which allowed Stampede to go before the power generator where he drained it of its energy. Thus, he fulfilled his desire of gaining its energy but realized that ultimate power had a price. The generator exploded killing all the Broncosaurs, many of the fleeing space ship and destroyed the planet itself. Stampede would prove to be one of the only survivors of this conflict though his enemy Shaman had managed to escape with the young boy known as BraveStarr. Afterwards, Stampede would relocate his headquarters to a new planet which was the barren though rich resource filled world of New Texas. In that time, the Shaman space ship was approaching New Texas with this arrival being sensed by Stampede who sought to destroy his old foe. Knowing of the evil ones goal, the Shaman coated the outside of his ship with a wall of stone from the surrounding asteroids. At the same time, he jettisoned the escape ship holding the sleeping BraveStarr in stasis in the hope that the galactic marshals would raise the child to be a force for good. Shaman's ship managed to crash land on New Texas where he managed to survive much to the anger of Stampede. This development led to Stampede deciding that he needed an agent of evil to accomplish his goals and searched New Texas for one suitable for the task. He would encounter a person who he believed to be embody the qualities of greed and cruelty in Tex Hex who seemingly died after his ship crash landed on the planet. Resurrecting Hex, Stampede would imbue him with magical powers to augment his capabilities and dispatched him with gathering those with an evil mindset after New Texas was discovered to be rich in Kerium leading to hordes of settlers, miners and traders arriving on the planet.

Tex Hex calls forth his master, Stampede.

With his gang, Hex would terrorize the people of New Texas who desperately called for an army of marshals to bring order to the world again. A galactic marshal ship was dispatched that carried the now grown up BraveStarr. Stampede would sense his presence and determine he was a threat to his reign thus he cast a powerful spell to send an asteroid to puncture the hull of the incoming ship. However, BraveStarr managed to close the hole in the window thus saving the crew of the ship. As a result, the angry Stampede would dispatch Hex and his gang to eliminate this new force for good as well as order that had arrived on New Texas. At his masters lair, Hex had gathered every outlaw and criminal from the known universe that had arrived on the planet where they intended to attack the town. Stampede would dismiss these outlaws but stated that he would summon his own army from the sands of New Texas when the time was right. This proved to be the case when Tex Hex's gang of outlaws were defeated by BraveStarr and his allies outside the own. As a result, Hex called forth his master who used his power to summon forth his servants that were an army of undead Broncosaurs whose skeletal bodies were animated to attack the town. However, the town settlers along with the help of the Prairie People had fortified the settlement though they struggled against the seemingly invincible monsters that Stampede had summoned which simply reformed their skeletal forms once destroyed. At the height of the battle, BraveStarr called forth on the aid of the Shaman who intended to add his magical might to BraveStarr. Sensing this move, an angry Stampede shot a mystical bolt that struck and wounded Shaman whose staff fell into the canyon below. BraveStarr would summon forth the speed of the puma spirit to reach the staff though Stampede would send Tex Hex to stop him. Both were wounded in the confrontation but Stampede aided his power to Hex thus allowing the criminal strike at BraveStarr who was saved by the timely intervention of Fuzz. BraveStarr would summon his might to defeat Tex Hex and throw the staff into Stampede's chest which greatly wounded the evil entity who seemingly died with this act drawing all those touched by his magic into a vortex which seemingly ended their reign of terror on the planet.

Overview

Personality and attributes

In appearance, he resembled a gigantic skeletal grey skinned horned bull-like creature with glowing yellow eyes whose lower body was shrouded in smoke. His mouth seemingly drooled a blue-like liquid that had acidic qualities as it burnt anything it touched.

His lust for power was described as being unstoppable and was single minded in his pursuit of it. Tex Hex described the being as the ultimate force of evil on the world of New Texas.

He scoffed at the idea that a gang of vagrants and criminals were able to challenge the magical might of BraveStarr.

Powers and abilities

He was quite powerful and a capable user of dark magic which he can enhance by draining energy reactors which can cause him to destroy entire planets. Stampede could generate a variety of energy blasts that could be shot either from his eyes, form large balls of energy between his horns, beams from the two dishes on his head or project them from his hands. He is also capable of giving life to the recently deceased giving them magical abilities and even amplifying them when he needs to do so. Furthermore, he is able to summon an army of gigantic skeletal bulls to serve him against his enemies. These are quite dangerous as the bulls reform after being destroyed, the bones pulling together which recreates the monster once more making them a very tenacoious opponent.
