History
Long ago, the Guardians of the Universe set themselves on the task of creating order and had built their citadel to serve as their headquarters. During this time, they used techniques known to them to gather together all the mystic force loose in the starways as they decided that science could only prevail. They thus decided to imprison it within the heart of a star where the magic was to remain imprisoned forever with it eventually becoming known as the Starheart. (Green Lantern v2 #111)

- The Starheart was created by Dennis O'Neil and Alex Saviuk where it made its first appearance in Green Lantern v2 #111 (December, 1978).
- Originally, it appeared as the Green Flame of Life in All-American Comics v1 #16 (1940) where it was created by Bill Finger and Martin Nodell.
