History

Strategically Integrated Coalition Of Nations (S.I.C.O.N.) was a global government established by Earth following its expansion into space. At some point, they encountered their first form of extraterrestrial life that were insectoids known as the Arachnids that infested Pluto. The hostility of the aliens led to the military being deployed in an engagement known as Operation: Pest Control designed to purge the insects from Pluto. It was deemed a success with recruitment drives surging around humanity due to their victory over the Bugs. However, on Pluto, a renewed presence of Arachnids emerged leading to a second engagement with the Bugs and S.I.C.O.N. forces leading to the Bug War. Initially, S.I.C.O.N. forces believed that the Bugs were native to Pluto and were simple animalistic creatures. During the Pluto Campaign, it was discovered that eggs were being delivered by a Arachnid Transport Bug indicating that the insectoids were much more intelligent than initially believed and that they were not native to the system. The Fleet attempted to follow the Transport Bug in the hope of discovering the Arachnid homeworld with it arriving at Hydora. Scouting attempts were made of the water world only to discover that it was simply a refueling colony for the Transport Bug and that the Arachnids were native to another planet entirely. As a result, S.I.C.O.N. began the Hydora Campaign as they began to battle against the Bug colony on the planet. Around this time, Private Carl Jenkins of Razek's Roughnecks received a psychic message from the Bugs with the insectoids stating that they never planned to stop the conflict until mankind was eliminated. In pursuit of the Bug homeworld, S.I.C.O.N. pursued the alien insectoids to another world named Tophet that was inhabited by a native race called the Skinnies. These humanoids turned on the humans and it was shown that they were allies of the Bugs. During the Tophet Campaign, it was discovered that the Skinnies were under the domination of parasitic Control Bugs. After being freed from the Control Bugs, the Skinnies quickly moved to become allies of S.I.C.O.N. and enlisted in the military to battle the Arachnid threat. S.I.C.O.N. later discovered a new Bug colony on a jungle world called Tesca Nemerosa leading to a conflict on the planet against the Arachnid forces. During the Tesca Campaign, the insidious nature of the Arachnids was shown when they could genetically manipulate their offspring based on the DNA from local species.

Overview

Psychics were known to be used by the intelligence division.

A major violation of fleet conduct code was when a pilot abandoned their ship. In such cases, a disciplinary hearing was conducted for the offending officer.

Ground level combat was achieved by the Mobile Infantry that were equipped with power suits to aid them in combat operations.

Soldiers deemed mentally unfit could be subjected to a Section 8 if they were deemed unbalanced. This saw them removed from active service and labelled them for life. Such soldiers could be taken away and subject to a mind wipe by psychics. The reasoning was that a blank mind meant a trooper had the mental imbalance removed but they forget everything about their past. As such, those subjected to a mind wipe were reassigned to another squad with their being no exception under the regulations.

Military troopers often affectionately called the organization as Psycho.
