History

Tabula Rasa was an area in Montana on Earth that was once contained a human town by the modern age. This was until a Death Seed corrupted Archangel sought to accomplish the directives set to him as an Evolutionary Caretaker. As a result, he took control of Clan Akkaba after the seeming demise of Apocalypse and with Genocide by his side he destroyed the human town in Montana. With the land scorched, it became the perfect test bed for their experiments in using the Celestial Life Seed in conjunction with the time altering nature of the Weapon Plus laboratory known as The World. Overseen by the Dark Beast, the Life Seed charged the soil and created the spark of life whilst the time alteration engine allowing million years of evolution to pass within a 24 hour period. The success of the experiment allowed Archangel to consider employing this process on a planetary level where he intended to re-seed the entire Earth. (Uncanny X-Force v1 #15)

Overview

In appearance, Tabula Rasa was a sphere ten miles in diameter including the land underground covering a region of Montana where time operated as an accelerated rate when compared to the rest of the planet. The land had been charged by the energies of a Celestial Life Seed allowing a completely new form of life to developed at an accelerated rate. (Uncanny X-Force v1 #15)

Civilisations that developed in Tabula Rasa included:

  • Night People : an underground civilisation that emerged during the night cycle where they rose up and conquered the surface thus taking it from the dominant race at the time. They ruled for millions of years until the rise of sentient tapeworms came that took over the land. (Uncanny X-Force v1 #15)
  • Apex : the highest species that inhabited the time-capsized land. (Uncanny X-Men v2 #6)

Inhabitants

  • Savage : a male Apex who was a scientist in his people during a time when they learnt that the warmth of the sun would disappear and lead to severe energy shortages amongst his people. He proposed entering into stasis until a more prosperous time emerged but was ridiculed for his suggestion with him entering into this slumber alone. Others of his kind joined in this practice but when he emerged he found most of his people had died and new life had emerged in the land. He was also confronted by his comrade who had become known as the Immortal Man and wanted to take revenge on the peoples that inherited the lands after the Apex. (Uncanny X-Men v2 #6)
  • Immortal Man : a male Apex who was a scientist in his people during a time when they learnt that the warmth of the sun would disappear and lead to severe energy shortages amongst his people. He proposed breaking the time boundary around the land and built a suit for the task but became lodged in the barrier leaving him trapped there for millions of years until it collapsed where upon his return he found that the Apex had died off except for his comrade called Savage. (Uncanny X-Men v2 #6)
