History

Team X

Professor Andre Thorton used the abandoned works of Mister Sinister to create super-powered soldiers with these being created as a result of the work made by Weapon Plus. (History of the Marvel Universe v2 #2)

In 1963, agent Logan, codenamed Emilio Garra, and Sabretooth, codenamed El Tigre, were on a mission in Cuba after Kennedy's assassination, where they had been betrayed by Silver Fox. (Wolverine v2 #49) They were later joined by agents Mastodon and Wraith, and together they clashed against Silver Fox, known as Zora de Plata. Afterwards, Agents Logan, Sabretooth and Wraith were sent on a mission in Southeast Asia. (X-Men v2 #61)

Around 30 years ago, Team X consisting of Logan, Victor Creed and David North were dispatched to East Germany to sabotage the Russian experiments in creating a supersoldier. The key goal was to recover a device known as the Cardonadium Synthesiser and the scientist Janice Hollenbeck. During the mission, the team encountered the Russian test subject Omega Red who attacked Team X. In their attempted escape, Victor Creed gunned down Dr. Hollenbeck whilst they made their escape with the Synthesiser. (X-Men v2 #6)

Overview

It was noted that the team were black-ops soldiers ultimately linked to the Weapon Plus program. (History of the Marvel Universe v2 #2)

Members of the team were deployed as weapons where brainwashing was used to wipe their past to prevent their experiences from influencing their missions. It also offered deniability as wiped minds could offer nothing if they were captured and interrogated by the enemy. Despite that, it was noted that there were glitches in their programming. The mindwipes had been frequent enough to ensure obedience, mollify guilt and keep the operatives focused on their tasks. (Wolverine v7 #9)
