History
Pre-Crisis
The Terrible Trio were three criminals who operated in Gotham City where they conducted a crime spree and hid their identities behind animal masks. (Detective Comics v1 #253)
The three criminals were involved in a robbery of the Gotham Bank where they used their burrow machine to drill into the site from below. Breaking into the vault, they began to steal the money there and looked to escape before the Gotham police arrived at the scene. However, instead, Batman and Robin arrived to stop the robbery but Fox threw out some bombs to deal with them. The Caped Crusader and Boy Wonder survived but the Terrible Trio managed to escape with their loot from the bank. (Detective Comics v1 #253)

Television
- In Batman: The Animated Series, the Terrible Trio appeared in the animated television series set in the DC Animated Universe with Warren Lawford / Fox voiced by actor Bill Mumy, Armand Lydecker / Vulture voiced by actor David Jolliffe, and Gunther Hardwick / Shark voiced by actor Peter Scolari. This version consisted of a trio of capitalists who each inherited family fortunes from oil, an aerodynamics firm, and shipping magnate father respectively. Out of boredom, they turned to crime where they assumed the identities of Fox, Vulture, and Shark after being inspired by the elements that gave them their fortunes.
- In The Batman, the Terrible Trio appeared in the animated television series in the episode "Attack of the Terrible Trio". This version were a trio of university students and social outcasts named David who was voiced by actor David Faustino, Justin who was voiced by actor Googy Gress and Amber who was voiced by actress Grey DeLisle). They came to mutate themselves into the three different animals after using formulas stolen from Dr. Kirk Langstrom.
- In Batman: The Brave and the Bold, the Terrible Trio appeared in the animated television series in the episode "Return of the Fearsome Fangs" where Fox voiced was by actor Phil Morris, Vulture was voiced by actor Edoardo Ballerini, and Shark who had no dialogue. These versions were bored millionaires who became martial artists and wore masks of their totem animals whilst studying at the Wudang Temple alongside Batman and Bronze Tiger.
