Thermophile Lithometallovores were a species of bacteria that featured in Marvel Comics.

History

Thermophile Lithometallovores were a species that were originally native to the Kree homeworld's moon. After the discovery of the monstrous lava dwelling race by the ancient Kree Regime, they were put to use by the governments forward leaning approach to their foreign policy. Taking the large beasts, they genetically engineered them and weaponized the creatures which were intended for use as Biosphere Killers. The Regime intended for the species to be introduced into the outer cores of planets which began a slow process over countless centuries in order to accomplish their aim. In the early days of the Kree Empire were noted for using these species as a means of accomplishing genocides on other worlds.

Background

The creatures resembled large serpentine eel-like creatures who were capable of surviving in such harsh environments like the Earth's core and in fact digested the minerals from worlds. Given centuries of prodigous feeding, the Thermophile Lithometallvores are capable of eventually destroying a planet by processing and demineralizing the core of the world itself. This in turn would massively disrupt the magnetic sphere field produced by the core and leave the surface of the planet unshielded from interstellar solar radiation which would scour the surface of all life. The engineered strain of these creatures made them potent bio-sphere killers.
