History
The Timequake was a crisis that occurred after the Time-Twisters replaced the Time-Keepers, and used the Keepers' servant Immortus to destroy known nexus beings in several divergent timelines, hoping to assure their own existence. One of their targets was the Earth-616 Scarlet Witch, and although Immortus failed, the Twisters managed to transform him into a frozen repository of temporal energy. However, their attempts to manipulate the last, most crucial timelines were thwarted by the mysterious Whisperer, who turned out to be a projection of Immortus.
As each nexus being survived (save one, the Ultra-Vision), the Twisters' probability of existence decreased, until they ceased to be altogether. As a result, Immortus broke free, and became a temporal wave, able to rewrite existence at will. He was stopped thanks to the Time Variance Authority and the Watcher, restoring the Time-Twisters (still disguised as the Time-Keepers). However, their masquerade was revealed by the real Time-Keepers, who reverted their counterparts back to an embryonic stage and returned them to the Citadel at the End of Time.

- Ultra-Vision : Vision's leadership of humanity, however, would come to an end soon after. As the Nexus being of Earth-90110, Vision was targeted for erasure by the Time-Twisters, as part of their plan to ensure their timeline would dominate at the end of time. They manipulated the timestream to place Michael Korvac in Vision's universe, where he in turn mentally enslaved the Cosmic Avengers. With their assistance, Korvak was able to penetrate Vision's defences and infiltrate his headquarters on the Martian moon of Deimos, confronting him in cyberspace. With his superior technology, Korvac was eventually able to overwhelm Vision, destroying the centuries old synthetic mind and leaving humanity leaderless. (What If...? v1 #36)
