The Valley of the Mystics was where the Mystics went to live, after their split from the Skeksis. It was one of the last beautiful and fertile places on Thra after the Skeksis got through ravaging the planet for a thousand years. They (and their Garthim) avoided it at all costs so as not to endanger themselves, due to their unbreakable connection to the Mystics.
