History
During the initial invasion, a variant of the Viper was used as an infiltrator with these human appearing aliens being known as Thin Men. With Earth under ADVENT control, the aliens abandoned the need for infiltrator units and made use of the Vipers.
Overview
In appearance, the Viper showed a clear reptilian nature with its physiology bearing a large similarly to Earth based organisms such as the use of venom sacs. Their powerful tail muscles continued to clench reflexively hours after their death despite no higher brain functions in the deceased subject.
These aliens were both sentient and highly intelligent.
Notes
- The Viper featured as an antagonist enemy in the reboot XCOM series where they debuted in XCOM 2.
- Based on their appearance, the Viper was seemingly the reboot version of the original X-COM's Snakemen.
