Biography

Origin

The New 52

Following the Flashpoint, a new version of reality was created with a different series of events. He operated in A-Squadron 22 of Her Majesty's Special Air Service where he achieved the rank of Major. (Deathstroke v4 #1) Wintergreen was alongside Slade during his times with his family and attempted to encourage Wilson to be more caring towards his children. (Deathstroke: Rebirth v1 #1) Such was his relationship with the Wilson children that they called him Uncle Wintergreen and he accompanied their father on numerous missions much to the frustration of Slade's wife Adeline. (Deathstroke v4 #1)

One day, a group of armed men dressed in law enforcement arrived and kidnapped Wintergreen where they kept him hostage for a year. He allowed himself to be caught thinking that Slade would rescue him and repeated the code phrase 'Kencilworth' in the hope that this would notify Deathstroke to free him. However, Slade never came as he was not aware that his old friend had been kidnapped with the world believing Wintergreen dead after a grave was erected with his name on it. Over the months, he entered into a hallucinatory state where he envisioned Slade arriving and freeing him only for him to awaken in the dark still trapped by his captors. (Deathstroke v4 #1)
