Origin
Jean Grey School
As Logan decided to reopen the mansion, he named it the Jean Grey School of Higher Learning with Hank McCoy responsible for designing and building it. (Wolverine and the X-Men v1 #1)
Afterwards, Mutants around the world began to be affected when the Terrigen Cloud was accidentally released into the atmosphere. The substance was shown to be toxic to Mutants causing them to die upon prolonged exposure thus necessitating the X-Men to find a sanctuary for their kind. To that end, they moved the school to Limbo where Magick had crafted safeguards to allow the site to remain protected from demons within the area called X-Haven. (Extraordinary X-Men v1 #1)
Xavier Outreach
After it was destroyed, a protest formed outside the destroyed remains where those with anti-Mutant sentiment celebrated the destruction and hailed the possibility of legislation that allowed for the use of a vaccine that eliminated the X-Gene. (Uncanny X-Men v5 #8)
House of X
Afterwards, a new Mutant homeland was established on the living island of Krakoa with all the species gathering at it. This saw the X-Mansion being abandoned and left derelict though a gate to Krakoa was established to allow ease of travel. At this time, a hidden nest of Sidri came to hatch underground where they began to colonise the area to be their new home. This saw them attacking Lady Mastermind when she inadvertently disturbed them whilst she intended to use the gate. After cocooning her, her powers influenced the insectoid aliens mind with the two looking for aid to help them by projecting illusions of X-Men. The mysterious appearances attracted Nightcrawler and his team of X-Men where they uncovered the truth at the site. Nightcrawler then came to negotiate with the Sidri where he agreed to let them claim the Xavier estate in exchange for letting Mutants to pass through the gate with the insectoid aliens agreeing to the terms thus ending any further hostility. Television
- In X-Men: Pryde of the X-Men, the X-Mansion appeared in the setting of the animated television pilot. It was the home of Professor X and his X-Men with Kitty Pryde coming there after she discovered she was a Mutant. When the X-Men were away on a mission, the mansion came under attack from Magneto and Juggernaut with the pair overwhelming the defensive systems that was partially scrambled accidently by Pryde's phasing ability. Magneto then took Cerebro's Mutant Power Circuit from Xavier for use in his own plans in devastating the world and allowing him to claim dominion over it.

- In Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order, the X-Mansion appeared in the setting of the Wii video game. Earth's heroes came to the mansion for aid in finding the Infinity Stones when they came under attack from Magneto who had acquired one of the cosmic relics. Their battle was interrupted when Sentinels had arrived seeking to claim the stones and eliminate Mutants thus forcing the Brotherhood of Mutants to team up with the heroes.
