Biography
Yurak was a male inhabitant of Planet Doom where he had risen in the ranks of the military of King Zarkon. After reaching the position of Commander, he led his emperors assaults against the known universe including attacks on the peaceful world of Planet Arus. During one of his raids, he encountered a vessel containing five Space Explorers from the Galaxy Alliance who were captured. They were placed onboard a slave ship and taken to Planet Doom alongside scores of other slaves. Yurak had the slaves taken to the gladiatorial arena where the were to fight the various beasts of Planet Doom for the amusement of the world's population. At the time, the Space Explorers were in Castle Doom's dungeons where they managed to escape onboard a slave ship and depart Planet Doom. Commander Yurak was dispatched onboard his cruiser in quick pursuit where he managed to badly damage the slave ship causing it to crash on Planet Arus. Whilst there, an intense fog obscured visibility as Yurak commanded his robot soldiers to continue the search for the Space Explorers. In this time though, the Space Explorers came to find the Castle along with the keys to the robot lions thus becoming their pilots. The threat of the re-formation of Voltron led to King Zarkon deciding to destroy the super-robot and prevent its return. A Robeast was thus dispatched to Planet Arus where it was to assist Yurak in defeating the Voltron Force. Commander Yurak though bristled at the arrival of the Robeast as he believed his robot soldiers were sufficient enough for the task. Taking personal command of his forces, he led from a tank on the planets surface as he commanded his army to destroy the Voltron Force. They were then confronted by the robot lions who decimated his army forcing them to retreat back to his mothership. It was then that Haggar forced Yurak to deploy the Robeast who was dispatched against the lions.
In the aftermath of the return of Voltron, he led several raids against Arus, often assisted by the witch Haggar and her robeasts.
During one attack on Planet Arus, Yurak led his forces onboard his cruiser against the Voltron Force. Despite his onslaught, his forces were decimated and his vessel was heavily damaged forcing him to retreat back to Planet Doom. This led to Commander Yurak appearing before King Zarkon and the Governors of the planet to answer for his failure as well as beg for their forgiveness. However, Haggar highlighted his failures and that he needed to be punishment with the sentence being exile. Yurak protested this decision and begged Zarkon to spare him this fate as he had served the King faithfully. Though Zarkon acknowledged his service, the King stated that Yurak had been incompetent with his numerous failures showing that he was unfit to lead the military. He violently stated his point with him threatening to spear Yurak and stating that he was to be banished at once. However, at that point, cruisers had arrived belonging to the King's son namely Crown Prince Lotor who had returned to his homeworld following his numerous conquests. Lotor was greeted by his father and informed Zarkon that news of Voltron's victories had spread far and wide. The King acknowledged the defeats and attributed to incompetent commanders with Lotor noticing Yurak. Zarkon was ready to banish Yurak but Lotor intervened by offering the military commander the chance at redemption. He had Yurak spared and taken to Haggar to be transformed into a Robeast as part of a plot against the Voltron Force. Prince Lotor went to Planet Arus to challenge one of the Voltron Force in a duel with his opponent being Keith but this was a trick to dispose of one of the lion's operators. With one Space Explorer removed, he had Yurak released to destroy the remaining four members of the Voltron Force. Initially, Yurak managed to easily defeat the lions until a wounded Keith arrived in the Black Lion who led the Space Explorers to form Voltron. Voltron then battled the Robeast and destroyed Yurak thus ending the threat posed by him.
With Yurak's demotion and later death, Zarkon appointed his son Lotor as commander of Doom Forces.
Overview
Personality and attributes
In appearance, Yurak shared many of the same physiological traits of inhabitants of Planet Doom. He was a humanoid with blue skin and long ears with his body seemingly covered in cybernetics with one eye being mechanical whilst the other was yellow.
He was noted to had always served Zarkon faithfully. Yurak was traditional, serious, gruff and lacks a sense of humor. He’s also intensely loyal to Zarkon and devoted to bringing glory to Planet Doom through conquest.
One of Yurak’s most notable traits was his rivalry with Haggar. Those two just did not get along. A lot the animosity stemmed from Yurak’s distaste for utilizing magic in almost any capacity. Traditional military strategy, robots, and battle ships were all vastly superior in his opinion. He’d frequently bristle at prospect of working with Haggar, claiming his ships and robots were all that was needed, and would become smug whenever Haggar’s magic proved not as invincible as she claimed.
His desire for glory meant that he sought out the defeat of Voltron so that he would be know as the conqueror of the super-robot and be rewarded by being awarded supreme command of Doom's forces.
Powers and abilities

He had commanded a particular mothership among the forces of the Planet Doom fleet. It had the ability to shoot an energy ray capable of activating a Robeast and enlarging them from their coffin.
After his repeated failures, Yurak was offered one last chance at redeeming himself with him being taken to Haggar and transformed into a Robeast. This saw him becoming a titanic humanoid version of himself that was outfitted with numerous in-built weapons. These included blasters on his finger tips, rockets from his arms and he could shoot out chains from his abdomen to latch onto targets.
