The city of Urik is one of the finest on Athas. Ruled by the Sorcerer-King Hamanu, it sits in the north-east of the Tablelands, just across the Dragon's Bowl from Tyr.
The walls of Urik are over a hundred feet high, and made of a yellow brick, earning the city the nickname the Yellow City. Its principle export is locally-quarried obsidian, used to make weapon edges.
Urik's legal system is the very definition of draconian; it is more extensive than that of any other city and covers more situations, but punishments are invariably harsh, and there is very little consideration given to circumstance or mitigating factors when interpreting it.
Since the coming of the Cerulean Storm, Hamanu has closed the doors of Urik, only allowing infrequent trade caravans to leave and enter under strict controls.
