When [[Sam Isaacs|Dr. Isaacs]]' "super zombies" attacked, Chase picked several of them off with his high-powered sniper rifle. Despite this, he went mostly unnoticed by the zombies until another member of the convoy climbed the tower trying to escape them, and several of the zombies followed her. Out of ammo, Chase attempted to help her climb up, but was ambushed from behind by a zombie who bit into his neck. He told her to escape and save herself as the other zombies converged on him, and, finally, the combined weight caused all of them to fall off the tower.
