Akanit was a young Mangalore who served as Aknot's second in command. After the Mangalores were betrayed by Zorg and Aknot badly injured in an explosion, Aknot had Akanit take command of the Mangalores' effort to recover the stones. Akanit accompanied Aknot to Fhloston Paradise where he and several other Mangalores tossed the Diva Plavalaguna's hotel room, murdering her manager and her assistant. Leeloo entered and fought the group, soundly defeating them. Later, the injured Akanit detonated a bomb the Mangalores had brought with them, "For the honor!", killing himself, the other knocked-out Mangalores and Zorg who had arrived searching for the stones himself.
