Sergeant Jock MacPhearson was a member of John Smith's team on the mission into Germany to rescue General George Carnaby. He served as the group's cook. He accompanied Smith, Schaffer, Christiansen, Thomas and Berkeley to the Zum Wilden Hirsh disguised as a German soldier. Smith, returning from a covert meeting with his lover and fellow spy Mary Ellison, found MacPhearson murdered outside of the inn by an unknown assailant.

- Like Harrod, the identity of MacPhearson's killer is never ascertained.
