The Filth is an entity that features in The Secret World.

History
During the course of human history, it was known by many names with the Sumerians calling it the Eater, the Babylonians named it Nergal's Rot, the Dead Tongues named it Devouring Plague with it also being known as the Zero Point Pathogen, the Dark Homunculus and as the Blackworm Jism.

It acted as a virus that infected a being's mind where it changed their physiology. Infection caused malformations such as boils and sores where it gradually transformed the victim into a grotesque monsters with tentacles. Those corrupted became increasingly violent where they became intent on infecting anything they came into contact with in their encounters.
Whilst a transmission, the Filth was not the transmitter itself and it was simply the shadow of something else entirely.
