Biography
He had Viper killed and left behind at the Long Winter base with him expecting Hydra to arrive at the facility. When they arrived, Orion had left a message for Baron Strucker with this suggesting a temporary stay of hostilities between the Leviathan horde and Hydra. (Secret Warriors v1 #15) The meeting between Hydra and Leviathan took place at the Crown that was a hub in Tokyo with Orion, Magadan and Contessa attending it. At the gathering, Orion demanded Hydra's subservience to him but offered that it could appear as independent to its followers but placed the terms of them being servants of Leviathan. This caused a start of hostilities with the Hydra delegation attacking Leviathan with the official state of war existing between them. (Secret Warriors v1 #16)
Whilst it was believed he could not die, Nick Fury had found a way to hurt him worse than anything he experienced before and that if he was not dead than he was dying. However, Uvarov came up with a way of keeping himself alive with him using the Infinity Formula. He then proceeded to seek out Nick Fury but he had gone underground and was unable to find him in his hunt for his foe. Unable to find Nick Fury, Orion had discovered that his enemy had sired a child with agent Nia Johnson named Marcus Johnson. The child had inherited part of the Infinity Formula giving him a healing ability and thus was the means of Uvarov to restore his own life by taking it from Marcus Johnson with him becoming desperate to recover it. (Battle Scars v1 #5) By this point, he was now a sickly old man confined to a wheel chair with him plotting the end of his old foe and sent operatives to kill the mother of Marcus Johnson. (Fear Itself v1 #7)
After taking the serum, Uvarov was restored with him being young again and he was determined to rebuild Leviathan from the remains of S.H.I.E.L.D. (Battle Scars v1 #5) He had a telepath root through the mind of the captive Nick Fury and take from his brain the Oroborus Code that was his back channel password to the entirety of S.H.I.E.L.D. With this knowledge, he intended to destroy his enemy and allow Leviathan to reign supreme. His plan was interrupted by an attack from Marcus Johnson who detonated the weapons in the arms bunker with Orion in the process of killing the soldier when the Avengers arrived. In the resultant confusion, Uvarov attempted to escape with him seemingly being killed by Johnson who avenged his mothers death. (Battle Scars v1 #6)
