Biography
Souta Washuu-Furuta (Japanese: 和修旧多 宗太, Hepburn: Washū-Furuta Sōta) was a male born in the modern age in Japan where he was born in the Sunlit Garden as a half-Ghoul of the Furuta Branch Family. As such, he was one of the many half-breed offspring of Tsuneyoshi Washuu of the Washuu Clan who were secretly a family of Ghouls but had masqueraded as humans and headed the Commission of Counter Ghoul to eliminate their own kind.
In the past, Furuta was a ghoul investigator raised in the Sunlit Garden as the youngest of the Furuta Branch Family. Kishou Arima took interest in him for his remarkable abilities. One day, when reading the records of the Washuu family tree, he discovered that everyone in the branch family had died around the age of 30. Overview
Personality and attributes
Whilst working as a Rank 1 Ghoul Investigator, he used the alias of Nimura Furuta (旧多 二福, Furuta Nimura). As a member of the Clowns, he went by the name Souta (宗太, Sōta). He then declared himself the Washuu King (和修の王, Washū no Ō) that was made to contrast against Kaneki claiming the title of the One-Eyed King.
As Furuta, on the surface he appeared to be a normal person with a quiet personality. He was shown as being soft-spoken and very polite where he respected his superiors whilst being worried for their safety in times of danger.
When asked for his motivations, he stated that he intended to bring about superpeace. He said he hated fighting and preferred to slaughter his foes 'peacefully'.
Kichimura had said that games were not fun unless lives were on the line. He found an insurance for anything and everything to be boring.
He saw that every person was simply a pawn on a great board. On the surface, he was seemingly nothing but a weakling and a coward who preferred to remain in the shadows where he plotted schemes behind everyone's backs.
Powers and abilities
As a failed half-ghoul, Furuta was born with abilities above that of a normal human but suffered a reduced life span as a result.
As Souta, he operated as a member of the Clowns (道化師ピエロ, piero, from French pierrot) and wore their distinctive clown-faced masks.
