"Skip" Altwater was a henchman of Robert G. Durant who had a machine gun hidden inside his artificial leg, having lost his original leg in a farming accident when he was a child. Although Skip himself never used the leg-gun, it was often employed by his partner Smiley.
Comments
- Originally Skip was to be killed when Darkman shoots him with his own leg. No such scene exists in the film, and according to actor Danny Hicks the scene was cut because of technical problems. However, the scene exists in Randall Boyll's novelization (where, interestingly, Skip is the one Darkman impersonates when meeting Strack, not Durant).
- In the Marvel Comics adaptation, Skip is either killed or driven to madness (in the same vein as Rick Anderson) when Darkman interrogates him about where Strack too Julie.
