Around 10 years ago, the Fourth Grail War resulted in a great fire erupting that consumed the city which killed his parents whilst leaving Shirou mortally wounded in the blaze. In that state, he was found by Kiritsugu Emiya who came to save the child after feeling responsible for the events of the recent disaster. Overview

Personality and attributes

In appearance, Shirou Emiya was a human male who as a teenager had auburn hair and golden-brown coloured eyes.

One of his hobbies was cooking where one of his forte's was Japanese cuisine.

After the last Grail War, the orphaned Shirou was adopted by Kiritsugu Emiya (衛宮 切嗣, Emiya Kiritsugu?) thus becoming his son. This also made him the adopted brother of Illyasviel Von Einzbern.

It was shown that he was initially attracted to Saber from the moment he saw her after she had been summoned.

The characters relationships varied depending on which route had been taken.

Powers and abilities

Whilst living with Kiritsugu, he was trained as a magus though his training was not formal leading to him now following the typical path of a magi. As such, he had been taught Magecraft (魔術, Majutsu?) though he only had the most basic training. This was to the point that Emiya's basic training in Magecraft was noted for being extremely lacking.

His unorthodox training led to him developing a very specialized version of projection magecraft.

Notes

  • Shirou Emiya was created by Kinoko Nasu where he featured in the setting of TYPE-MOONs Fate universe.

Alternate Versions

  • In an alternate future timeline, Shirou made a contract with the World (Alaya) and became the Heroic Spirit EMIYA. He acts as a Counter Guardian for the world as payment for the contract. Rin intended to summon a strong Saber class servant without a catalyst. Unknowing to her, the jewel pendant was used as a catalyst which summoned the Heroic Spirit EMIYA. Rin's Pendant, a one-of-a-kind jewel kept by Emiya as a keepsake of his unknown savior over the years. Differing from normal, it was not the pendant Rin owns in the present that acts as the catalyst. Emiya is instead a case where he holds a catalyst with a connection to his summoner. Archer crash landed in one of the mansion' rooms after the summoning process was completed.
