Events
- Lord of the Rings: c. 7073 BC (II 3429). Sauron's armies attack Gondor, seizing Minas Ithil and burning the White Tree. Isildur escapes to Elendil. Anarion mounts a defense of Minas Anor and Osgiliath. (The Return of the King)
- Lord of the Rings: c. 7072 BC (II 3430). The Last Alliance is formed to oppose Sauron. (The Return of the King)
- Lord of the Rings: c. 7071 BC (II 3431). Gil-galad and Elendil march to Imladris. (The Return of the King)
- Lord of the Rings: c. 7068 BC (II 3434). The Last Alliance crosses the Misty Mountains; Sauron's forces are defeated in the Battle of Dagorlad. A siege of Barad-dur begins. (The Return of the King)
- Lord of the Rings: c. 7062 BC (II 3440). Anarion is slain. (The Return of the King)
- Lord of the Rings: c. 7061 BC (II 3441/III 1). The Last Alliance destroys Sauron (temporarily), but Elendil and Gil-galad die in the battle. Isildur claims the One Ring rather than destroy it. End of the Second Age, beginning of the Third Age. (The Return of the King)
