Events

  • Lord of the Rings: c. 7061 BC (II 3441/III 1). The Last Alliance destroys Sauron (temporarily), but Elendil and Gil-galad die in the battle. Isildur claims the One Ring rather than destroy it. End of the Second Age, beginning of the Third Age. (The Return of the King)
  • Lord of the Rings: c. 7060 BC (III 2). Isildur plants the seedling of a new White Tree in Minas Anor. Isildur also "delivers" the South-kingdom to Meneldil. On the Gladden Fields, Isildur and his sons are ambushed and slain; the One Ring is lost. (The Return of the King)
