Pipkin was a small, plump rabbit who lived in Sandleford and was a close friend of Fiver. When Fiver predicted Sandleford's destruction, Pipkin opted to accompany Fiver and his older brother Hazel when they left the warren. During the journey to Watership Down, Pipkin accompanied Hazel to Nuthanger Farm for the purpose of freeing the rabbits there, and later he played a key role in repelling the invading Efrafans from their new warren when he helped bury Bigwig underneath the dirt, which allowed him to leap out and take General Woundwort by surprise.

Watership Down (Series)

Largely identical to the movie and novel version of the character, at least to a certain point. Pipkin's role in the TV series is much larger than either the novel or the movie. He was kidnapped by the Efrafans at one point, and Woundwort took him under his wing, for the dual purpose of grooming him as a possible heir and hoping to coax him into revealing the location of Watership Down, during which time he made friends with Captain Campion.

He was eventually rescued by the other Watershippers, and persuaded Hazel to spare Woundwort's life when Hazel was going to kill the Chief Rabbit of Efrafa. Sometime later, he helped saved a wounded Campion from scavengers and brought him food, ensuring the former Owsla captain's survival. There was also a point where the rabbit con artists Bluesky and Raincloud, pretendting to be the messengers of Frith, played on Pipkin's gullibility and pretended to grant him the ability to fly.

Comments

In both the novel and the film, Pipkin was portrayed was being merely a very small adult rabbit, a runt like Fiver. However, in the TV series he is very clearly a child.
