He was recruited by Captain James Jensen to serve the role of saboteur in Lieutenant Andrew Stevens' group, with his primary objective being to blow up the German guns located on Navarone. When Stevens was injured, forcing Keith Mallory to take command, Miller often clashed with him, but did his job in the end.
