In appearance, a Moorwen was a quadrupedal creature with reptilian features and a long tail. Their limbs had long think sharp claws that were capable of cutting flesh, skin, bone and some building materials. Moorwen were shown to be good swimmers that were able to hold their breath for long periods of time. They possessed a thick skin that was resistant to fire and invulnerable to damage form more common metals. A feature of these creatures was the ability to produce bioluminescence in most colours of the visible spectrum though the most common one they used was red. The glowing was used to attract prey and also was used to convey the emotions of the creature.
