Biography
Tanjiro Kamado (Japanese: 竈門 炭治郎, Hepburn: Kamado Tanjirō) was a male human born centuries ago in the lands of Japan.
A crow then told the group their next assignment which involved eliminating demonic activity at the Natagumo Mountain (那な田た蜘ぐ 蛛も山やま Natagumo yama?). They were to join others slayers in clearing out the area of the Spider Family.

Tanjiro had a natural heightened sense of smell that he used in his life even prior to becoming a demon slayer. After his training, this talent grew strong and skilled enough allowing him to smell the line of interval. Kamado was even able to tell the hidden emotions of a persona through the scent he could pick up from them.
From Sakonji, Kamado was taught the Breath of Water (Japanese: 水みずの呼こ吸きゅう, Hepburn: Mizu no kokyū?) technique allowing him to increase the amount of oxygen in his blood by controlling his breathing pattern, which increased his strength and agility to equal that of a Demon.
