The planet was completely devoid of life, it was once the home pof mighty hunters who'd learned how to keep from becoming Starro-slaves and had a way to injure Starro, which resulted in starro committing genocide on them. They dipped their weapons in a ceremonial vessel filled with poison, and the Omega Men went to find the vessel. It contained remnants of the poison, which Doc said he could reconstitute on their ship. They traveled back to the Psion spacelab, where Starro was locked battle with Vril Dox and his R.E.B.E.L.S. Armed with darts dipped in the poison that could kill Starros. They struck the Conqueror, but missed his Starro, forcing Vril to get close enough to him to kill the creature with a dart. The Conqueror's Starro died, severing his connection to trillions of mind-slaves, and killing their Starros as well. Despero performed the coup de grace, and told the R.E.B.E.L.S. they were invited to Kalanor to witness Starro's execution.
