Logar was the god of fire worshipped by the people of Sarn, to which the healing powers of the native numismaton gas were attributed. The Master took advantage of the legends of Logar to trick Timanov, leader of the people of Sarn, into opposing the Fifth Doctor.
Logar was actually the deified version of a historical figure- a Trion volcano researcher.
