The Helghast are Human colonists that settled the harsh planet known as Helghan in the Killzone series.
Early life of the colonists was hard with heavy radiation in the atmosphere causing hair to fall out and children to be born deformed. In time, their bodies would adapt to their environment and future generations would become hardier and taller then normal Humans.
