90th Century BC

• DC (Pre-Crisis Earth-S), DC (Post-Crisis), DC (Post-Zero Hour), DC (Post-Infinite Crisis): c. 9000 BC. The young boy Jebediah is given the magic word VLAREM, which transforms him into the heroic Champion. For the next 3000 years, he will fight evil, before settling down as the wizard Shazam. • Lord of the Rings: c. 8912 BC (II 1590). In Eregion, the smiths complete the first three Rings of Power. These Rings, created for the elves, are followed during the next ten years by seven rings for the dwarves and nine rings for Men. (The Return of the King)

• Lord of the Rings: c. 8902 BC (II 1600). Sauron forges the One Ring, and uses its power to complete Barad-dur. Celebrimbor realizes what Sauron intends to do with the One Ring. (The Return of the King)

• Dungeons and Dragons (Dark Sun): c. 8766 BC (55th King's Age - Ral's Reverence (Y34)). Green Age. The thri-kreen migrate from the Crimson Savannah to the Tyr region. (No cause is given for this action.) Previously considered unintelligent, the thri-kreen prove to be a thoughtful race, and are accepted by the king of Tyr with open arms. • Dungeons and Dragons (Forgotten Realms): c. 8742 BC (c. -9000 DR). The Crown Wars end, and the High Forest is abandoned so that the gods may restore it to peace. The era of elven colonization known as the Wandering Years begins. Many elves migrate to the Elven Court. Of the elven realms that existed before the Crown Wars, only Illefarn and Keltormir emerge intact. The cloaker city of Rringlor Noroth has been founded by this time.
