- Peggy Carter was created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby where he first appeared in Tales of Suspense v1 #77 (May 1966).
Alternate Versions
- In Captain America v2 #12 (1997), a version of Peggy Carter was shown to reside in the Heroes Reborn universe where she married Richard 'Bucky' Barnes. The pair had a son who in turn gave them grandchildren in the form of Rikki Barnes and her brother John Barnes. The fate of Peggy Barnes son was not known but her grandchildren began living with her on this Counter-Earth.
- In Spider-Gwen v2 #2 (2015), an alternate world designated Earth-65 that was home to Spider-Woman had its own version of Peggy Carter. Agent Carter was part of the Strategic Scientific Reserve (SSR) and headed Project Rebirth that was sabotaged by Nazi spies but one of its candidates namely Samantha T. Wilson underwent the process to become the supersoldier Captain America in World War II. Carter worked with Captain America until she was lost in another dimension for 75 years. In the aftermath, Carter established S.H.I.E.L.D. as a peacekeeping force for the world.
