Cursed Gear (Japanese: 鬼呪装備, Hepburn: Kiju Sōbi?) were mystical weapons that were empowered by demons that if tamed provided their users with incredible powers and could unleash curses on their foes. Many magical organisations had attempted to develop these weapons over the years but had little success. This was until Mahiru Hīragi completed her work on demon curses as part of her research where she allied with the ''Brotherhood of a Thousand Nights''' in combining their magic with the '''Japanese Imperial Demon Army'''. The result of this combined work led to the creation of Cursed Gear that allowed for the binding of demons to weapons and users to make contracts with entities within them. For her work, Mahiru was hailed as a hero by the Imperial Demon Army who came to use Cursed Gear as weapons to fight against the threat of the [[Vampires (Seraph of the End)|Vampires]] that had taken over the world.
