Yhwach (Japanese: ユーハバッハ, Hepburn: Yūhabahha) was a male spiritual being born as the son of the Soul King whose existence created the Soul Society.
He was said to had been born over a thousand years ago where he emerged into the world being unable to see, hear, talk or even move.
About 1,000 years ago, Yhwach and the Lichtreich engaged in battle with the original Gotei 13. He was the emperor of the Wandenreich (見えざる帝国（ヴァンデンライヒ）, Vandenraihi, "Invisible Empire") that was an empire consisting of Quincies.
