The Confederacy of Independent Systems is a government that features in Star Wars.

History
Founded by Count Dooku, the Confederacy of Independent Systems was formed eight years after Senator Palpatine's election to Supreme Chancellor. Their goal was to seperate themselves from the Republic and become their own independent government.
Unknown to its members, the Separatists, however, the Confederacy was merely a tool for Dooku (Darth Tyrannus) and his Sith master, Darth Sidious. After the Seperatists had all outlived their usefulness to Palpatine/Sidious, he sent Anakin Skywalker to kill them all after the end of the Clone Wars.
Overview
Its military consisted of the Droid Army that included mass deployment of various models of battle droids.
