Luna-1

Luna-1 was an artifact that featured in Psi-Ops: The Mindgate Conspiracy.

Background

Luna-1 was an artifact that was found on the moon where it retrieved in the late sixties and was brought to Earth for study. The acquisition of such a find resulted in a secet war being fought over both the US and Russia. It was later placed in the care of the American Mindgate project where it was sealed in a vault to prevent its abuse by other forces. The leader of the Movement known as the General learnt of Luna-1 and assaulted Mindgate in order to gain it so that he could unlock its power to conquer the world.

The artifact was a series of seven spheres around one another with a blueish surface with the later addition of several rings that surround the object. They were psi-based items which were capable of being unlocked and bestowing a great deal of psychic energy to its user. They were ancient and older then what Humanity could imagine. Their configuration was essential in opening the secrets of the Monolith. Dr. Kimiko Jones had been studying the artifacts and it was later discovered that they worked in conjunction with the Monolith in a temple in the Himalayas.

The Monolith bestowed itspower on the user due to a unique gravitational relationship with the Earth's moon which had drifted from its original position thus weakening the Monolith. The Movement agent Barret used his telekinetic powers amplified by technology to restore the original arrangement after which the machine was activated where it gave the General what was described as the powers of a god.

The origins of Luna-1 was unknown though its origin on the moon suggests possible alien involvement.
