Biography
Origin
Frederick Von Frankenstein was a male human born in the modern age where he was a scion of the von Frankenstein family. He was the only heir of his father and as he was growing up he was expected to follow in the family footsteps into the scientific field. During this time, his father owned a large highly-funded laboratory with Frederick placed under immense pressure to succeed both at school and at the lab. The sheer volume of work was too much for one person to handle and he came to use his uncle Hal's phase shifter to create duplicate copies of himself. This allowed him to create duplicates of himself that would help him at work. These allowed him to handle his lab work and school work as well with him completing his work on a process that allowed one to stick to walls. It was believed though that the use of the temporal phase shifter triggered a metagenetic capacity in his body allowing him to duplicate himself without the machine. However, the power caused disfiguring effects on his body and also prevented him from being able to sleep as he no longer possessed a single mind. This caused his behaviour became increasingly bizarre that ultimately led to his banishment from the laboratory by his father. The negative effects of sleep deprivation came to break his mind and he fell into a life of crime where he adopted the name Riot. (Superman: The Man of Tomorrow v1 #14)

Powers and abilities
Originally, he was an ordinary human being though one born of the von Frankenstein line making him a talented scientist and inventor. Frederick made use of a temporal phase shifter that allowed him to 'borrow' versions of himself from microseconds in the past and future. Thus, he was able to create multiple copies of himself which he used to handle the intense workloads that were given to him. He came to be capable of accomplishing the ability to duplicate by himself with it suspected that this perhaps activated a previously unknown metagenetic capacity in his body.
