Notes

  • Writer Emiliano Santalucia was queried about the identity of the person encased within the crystal in the comics for 200x Masters of the Universe. He revealed that the person inside was the Unnamed One where before he was imprisoned that half of his essence was contained within the crystal whilst the other inhabited a mechanical body that became Horde Prime.

Television

  • In She-Ra: Princess of Power, Horde Prime appeared in the setting of the 1980s animated television series where he was voiced by actor Lou Scheimer. He was said to be the ruler of a universe spanning empire and created a clone of himself that became Hordak.
  • In She-Ra and the Princesses of Power, Horde Prime appeared as an antagonist in the 2018 animated television where he was voiced by actor Keston John. He was shown as an intergalactic warlord that commanded a vast interstellar empire which controlled space. To aid him, Horde Prime created a number of clones of himself with one becoming Hordak and was a trusted general. However, Hordak was a flawed clone and thus Horde Prime dispatched him on the frontier where he eventually disappeared. In time, Horde Prime came to discover the signal for Hordak but could not find the source due to it being a planet hidden in another dimension. When Etheria was brought back into the universe, Horde Prime's fleet arrived at the world where he transported Hordak to his flagship and delved into his mind. Horde Prime was angered at Hordak attempting to rise above his station and thus ordered him taken away for reconditioning whilst he considered conquering Etheria after learning that it was a storehouse of mystical energy that could be used as a weapon.
