Hikaru Ichijyo is a male anime and manga character who features in Macross.

Biography

Hikaru Ichijyo (Japanese: 一条 輝, Hepburn: Ichijō Hikaru) was a Japanese male born on November 4, 1992 where it was said that his mother died young and his father came to raise him alone. During these years, his father maintained a flying circus where one of his employees as a pilot named Roy Focker who Hikaru saw as his 'senpai'. Focker would fly in front of him with Hikaru always attempting to keep up with him. The world was then changed when an alien battleship crashed on the Earth and an 8 year conflict over it erupted in the Unification Wars. This saw Focker leaving to be a fighter pilot for the United Nation's U.N. Spacy but promised he would return after the war. However, Hikaru's father came to die tragically in a plane crash leaving Hikaru an orphan with Roy looking after him as he grew up. Years later, Major Roy Focker came to invite Hikaru to the launch ceremony of the reverse engineered alien warship that was called the SDF-1 Macross that was ready for its maiden launch on February 7, 2009.

He eventually came to marry Misa and she took the name Misa Ichijyo.

Such was his skill as a pilot that he earned seven titles in the amateur pilot competition.

  • Hikaru Ichijyo was created by Studio Nue and Artland where he featured in the setting of Macross.
  • The character was later adapted for the setting of Robotech where he became he basis of Rick Hunter.
