- The Island of Dr. Moreau: February 8. Helmar and another, unnamed man, sharing a lifeboat with Edward Prendick, kill one another over water.
Undated Events
- The Island of Dr. Moreau: Edward Prendick (who does not know how long he has drifted since his fellow survivors perished) is picked up by the Ipecacuanha and brought to Noble's Isle.
- The Island of Dr. Moreau: Deaths of Dr. Moreau and Montgomery and subsequent regression of the beast people. Sometime during this, the Ipecacuanha is reported lost.
