A Specialist Wizard is a wizard who specializes in a particular school or style of magic. The known specialist wizards are broken down into three groups.

Schools of Philosophy

The eight "core schools of magic, and the most common areas of specialization. The specialists are:

• Abjurer (Abjuration)
• Conjurer (Conjuration/Summoning)
• Diviner (Divination)
• Enchanter (Enchantment/Charm)
• Evoker (Invocation/Evocation)
• Illusionist (Illusion/Phantasm)
• Necromancer (Necromancy)
• Transmuter (Transmutation)

Schools of Effect

The next most common areas of specialization. The specialists are:

• Chronomancer (Chronomancy)
• Dimensionalist (Dimension)
• Elementalist (Elemental Air, Elemental Earth, Elemental Fire, Elemental Water)
• Force Mage (Force)
• Incantatrix (Metamagic)
• Mentalist (Mentalism)

• Shadow Mage (Shadow)

The least common areas of specialization. The specialists are:
