History
Jinchūrikis (Japanese: 人柱力, literally meaning: Power of Human Sacrifice) were humans in the Ninja World who were bonded to one of the Tailed-Beasts. Their origins were traced to a millennium ago when the world was being terrorised by a rampaging colossal monster called the Ten-Tails. In that time, a pair of siblings named Hagoromo Otsutsuki and Hamura Ōtsutsuki worked together to defeat the creature which was then sealed in the former who became the world's first Jinchūriki. With its power, Hagoromo came to perform a great many deeds and promoted peace during his life time leading to him being revered as the Sage of the Six Paths. At the end of his life, he feared that his death would release the Ten-Tails which would go on a rampage in the world again. To prevent that, he came to split its chakra thus creating nine living entities that became known as the Tailed-Beasts.
