Biography
YoRHa No.2 Type B (Battle) (Japanese: ヨルハ2号B型, Rōmaji: Yoruha 2-gō B-gata) was a female gynoid that was created as part of Project YoRHa. She was created on January 7, 11942 where her designation as 2B was made by the Commander as a cover for her true goal which was to observe the new Scanner model YoRHa No.9 Type S. 2B's role was to ensure that 9S would not discover the true nature of Project YoRHa by executing him in case he dug too deep because of the natural curiosity programmed into him. Over the course of hundreds of operations, 2B was forced to kill 9S and wipe his memory countless times, an act that she came to hate for the pain it caused her after bonding with him over that time.
Overview
Personality and attributes
In appearance, 2B was a human appearing gynoid taking the form of a young woman with a pale complexion where she had short silvery white hair. It was shown that she had grayish-blue eyes underneath her blindfold and she had a mole on the right side of her chin. Her most striking feature was the standard-issue blindfold that obscures her eyes, and the notable references of YoRHa found on her dress. She wears a high-slit black turtleneck dress which due to its nature, allows her to perform a wide arrange of moves to suit her combat style. Her dress has a high collar, and an open cleavage obscured by a lace-patterned fabric that roughly bears the logo of YoRHa. It has puffed sleeves ending in mid-forearm in the form of crow feathers.
As a combat android, she did not engage in idle chatter and refused to engage in idle chatter on frivolous subjects. She had even said that feelings and emotions were prohibited.
Being a Type-E android, she was tasked with keeping close contact with 9S who was her target. As Type-S models were intelligent and curious models, Command came to know that they could eventually discover the truth about Project YoRHa and the Council of Humanity. Command thus tasked 2B with the mission o eliminating him every time he discovered the truth.
Deep down, 2B was actually a very kind person who cared a great deal for her friends. She was shown to pet her Pod as though it were a pet and going so far as to find a picture of a flower for Operator 60. She is also very respectful towards others' wishes; when she and 9S are searching for the memories of an android with amnesia via going to places 9S wonders what's so important about them. 2B merely states that the memories are important to her and that's all that matters. In addition, despite her professional nature, 2B disliked 9S calling her 'ma'm' with her describing such word as being 'unnecessary'. Her cold and aloof exterior was largely out of necessity, as her defence mechanism for the horrors of life and the reality of her programming.
Despite her mission, the constant deaths of 9S resulted in accumulated emotional grief.
Powers and abilities
In reality, 2B was actually a Type-E android that were a special class of androids used for the execution of YoRHa members. As part of her purpose, she was designed to appear as a seemingly innocent unit in order to maintain constant target with her target. It was this reason why she took the form of a Type-B android that were a combat model so as to not raw suspicion of her target which was 9S. 2B was presented as a "B" (Battler) combat android for YoRHa, a newly-created squadron dedicated to reclaiming Earth from invading aliens and allowing humanity to return. While classified as a "B" model, she is really a disguised "E" (Executioner) model, who is aware of the truth about YoRHa - that humanity had gone extinct long ago.
Her basic light attacks did less damage but were faster and had a higher potential for combos. The precise nature of the attack depended on what the primary weapon equipped as large weapons would be slower. Meanwhile, her basic heavy attacks dealt more damage but were slower and have shorter combos. A heavy attack could be inserted as a finisher at any point in a light attack combo, with the type of heavy attack depending on both the equipped primary and secondary weapons. Jumping and then immediately activating a heavy attack will result in a launcher move, with the precise move depending on what the selected secondary weapon is. Performing a heavy attack button with a spear or large sword set as the heavy attack weapon will charge a powerful attack with two levels, the second of which will have an extended attack if it successfully connects.
Like all YoRHa units, she was equipped with a black box that was a re-used core of a machine lifeform. This contained her consciousness allowing her to download herself into a new body if the old one was destroyed.
Her signature weapon was the Virtuous Contract that was a white sword similar to those carried by the samurai of old. Though it looked flashy, the blade was of top quality. The small sword is part of the weapons of Virtue, which also includes Virtuous Treaty, Virtuous Dignity, and Virtuous Grief.
She was accompanied by a tactical support unit with this being Pod 042.
Similar to all Project YoRHa members, her base of operations was the Bunker that was a space station located in orbit.
