Biography
Asura (Japanese: 阿修羅, Hepburn: Ashura) was created 800 years ago when he was made from a fragment of the Grim Reaper's soul namely that of Lord Death. He was made as a member of Death's Eight Powerful Warriors and considered the most valued of their number due to his strength and great power. Asura was gifted with a Magic Weapon named Vajra that served as his partner who assisted him in battle. However, a flaw emerged in his creation as Asura was made from a part of Death's soul that contained fear. A result of this development was that this led to a disturbed and paranoid personality manifesting in his nature. Despite Vajra's aid, Asura became more and more unstable as time went on to the point that he slaughtered a group of witches by himself. The paranoid he experience led to him having Vajra consume human souls whereupon he in turn consumed his weapon leading to his transformation into the first generation Kishin. Upon his ascension to Kishin, Death himself opposed his former comrade where he succeeded in defeating him with Asura being skinned alive with his own skin serving as a prison as he was drained of his blood. He was then sealed underneath what became Death City with Lord Death placing his essence there in order to ensure that Asura remained imprisoned for eternity. The Death Weapon Meister Academy was then established with the purpose of stopping the rise of Kishin with only a few privy to the truth that a Kishin resided underneath it.
Among the people affected by the madness wavelength was Arachne who restored herself after dispersing her spiders around the world long ago.

This madness wavelength that affected the world around him that brought the madness hidden within people to manifest in a person.
When he descended into madness, he devoured his weapon partner but was still able to partially regurgitate Vajra from his mouth to continue to use him as a weapon in battle. As the Kishin, he gained the power to emit his Madness of Terror with this being a perpetual residual energy known as the Madness Wavelength. This affected the sanity of others around him and threatened to turn them into mindless beasts.
