Origin
Shyleen Lao
When businessman Thayer Jost acquired the rights to the Doom Patrol name, he set about finding some new members. No one knows how he found Shyleen Lao, or how he recruited her to join his new team. The youngest member of the reformed Doom Patrol, Shyleen's developing heat powers remained erratic, possibly because she was still maturing or because she was untrained. For a brief time she had some control under Robotman but left on her own still struggling with control issues. Shyleen was a complex mix of gumption and adolescent fear. She liked being part of the team amd facing great danger but could also be easily terrified by those same threats.
Shyleen was one of many heroes abducted by the Dark Side Club and was brainwashed into fighting in gladiatorial combat. She briefly shared a cell with captured members of the Teen Titans, Miss Martian and Red Devil. Fever fought in a battle against the Ravager, who succeeded in defeating her with a single kick to the jaw. The judge Virman Vundabar signaled for Ravager to execute Fever, but she refused to take her life. As Ravager exited the arena, one of Vundabar's henchmen shot Fever in the head, killing her. She had power over heat transfer and, to a degree, fire. Although, in order to control her power, Shyleen wears special gloves that focus her energy.

- Fever was created by John Arcudi and Tan Eng Huat where she made her first appearance in Doom Patrol v3 #1 (December, 2001).

- In Titans, Fever appeared in the setting of the live-action DC Universe television series in the episode "Doom Patrol" where she was portrayed by actress Hina Abdullah. The Chief returning to his mansion came back home with 'a new patient' who was an activist that had been covered by liquid nitrogen during an explosion, and who was now apparently able to control temperature in her immediate vicinity causing Chief’s lab to become a huge fridge responding to her fear.
