The Earth Military Directorate was a Human government that features in the game Space Force: Rogue Universe
Background
The Earth Military Directorate became the dominant Human governmen in the year 2015 when Earth itself began changing its natural resources with only winter and summer existing as seasons of the year. These changes caused enormous migrations from the northern and southern parts of the world which resulted in gatherings in the USA, Central Europe and Central Asia. This overpopulation resulted in the formation of a new world order due to the chaos that followed; conflicts and rising tensions brought about greater states of emergency. The state responded by makig rapid investments in military industry with aircrafts becoming more powerful and possessing huge fuel tanks as wll as lethal weaponry.
It was at this point that Earth was attacked by the Ord, an alien species whose predation at Humanity's weakest moment resulted in the death of 1, 5 millions of people in the first strike with another 2 million dying on the next invasion. The inability of the politicians to respond to the situation resulted in the military taking over and the USA military, seeing themselves outnumbered, created a new military alliance that would become the Earth Military Directorate.
The aims of this new international body was to devote the entire economy towards improvement of the military's industry with commandes being chosen as the new rulers of the EMD. The troops of this new power would be tasked with defending th planet from further invasions from different alien species. In order to combat threats from the Ord and other alien species, new recruits were needed which resulted in the Directorate drafting boys and girls into their training as well as education programmes. Strategies in ancient history, advanced weaponry and practicing lethal arts became the common elements in the schooling of these children.
The Earth Military Directorate's slogan became the "Aims justifies the means." In the minds of these military leaders, diplomacy was insufficient in deterring enemies from invasion and that one had to use force to deal with these threats. As such, the headquarters of the EMD was well hidden to prevent hostile species from attacking the leaders of the Directorate.
By the year 2060, the Directorate finished their first model of battleships which were well equipped to fight intergalactic wars. Expansion through the solar system and beyond was the primary tenents of the organization. In 2080, the EMD enacted it plan of revenge against the Ord by slaughtering their colony in the Goe system. New colonization continued with the development of New Terra which soon became a economical and military centre of the Goe system. EMD troops were determined to expand and forge their power through war and bloodshed.
