Pyrian Torchship
A Pyrian Torchship was a type of ship that featured in Andromeda.
Background
The Torchship was the primary type of warship used by the Pyrian species and were quite powerful even during the times of the Systems Commonwealth with them being equal matches to the Glorious Heritage class heavy cruiers. It was believed that after three hundred years the Torchships would have been advanced to such a state that they would be superior then the Commonwealth equivalent.
They were equipped with powerful short range continous plasma beams which were capable of dealing a great deal of damage to enemy ships. In addition to this, they also made use of AP mass packets which slowed down an enemy ship allowing them to cripple them before closing them to use their primary weapons.
