• Back to the Future: September 5. Hill Valley becomes a city.

• Real World: The Confederate States of America lose the American Civil War, and the Confederacy is taken over by the Union. U.S. President Abraham Lincoln is assassinated; Andrew Johnson replaces him. "Wild Bill" Hickok shoots Dave Tutt dead in the first true showdown in the American West. Disgruntled Confederate veterans form the Ku Klux Klan.
